• Research budget 0,2 of GDP (2003) well below the
  Lisbon target (3 )
• TOTALLY - 3. 244. 351 EUR
• Low input of stakeholders (farmers / industry /
  consumers)
• Main financial resources from the ministry of
  science and Ministry of Agriculture
• Reduction of number of scientists from 30 500 in
  1989 to 4 500 in 2000 (Ekmanis, 2004)
