Many definitions...
- The offering of the innocent for the guilty...
3Sacrificial Offering is seen throughout
Scripture...
- In Adam Eves restoration back to God
- In Gods rejection of Cains bloodless offering
- In Noahs burnt offering sacrificed to the Lord

- In Abrahams offering up Isaac as a sacrifice
- In the Institution of the Lords Passover
4Isaiah 537 He was oppressed and afflicted, yet
he did not open his mouth he was led like a lamb
to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her
shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.
5Sacrificial Lamb
- Without blemish
- 2 Corinthians 521 God made him who had no sin to
be sin for us, so that in him we might become the
righteousness of God.

- Must be slaughtered
- John 1917-18 17 Carrying his own cross, he went
out to the place of the Skull (called Golgotha).

12Substitutionary Death
- Hebrews 928 so Christ was sacrificed once to
take away the sins of many people and he will
appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to
bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.
Lets go back to the Cross...
13- 1 Co 57b ...For Christ, our Passover lamb, has
been sacrificed.
14He bore our sins in His body
- Matthew 2746 About the ninth hour Jesus cried

you forsaken me?

of the Lord will be saved."

20The Lords Supper
- 1 Corinthians 1123-26 For I received from the
Lord what I also passed on to you The Lord
Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread,
24 and when he had given thanks, he broke it and
said, "This is my body, which is for you do this
in remembrance of me." 25 In the same way, after
supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the
new covenant in my blood do this, whenever you
drink it, in remembrance of me." 26 For whenever
you eat this bread and drink this cup, you
proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
