- The Transrapid is the first fundamental
innovation in railroad engineering since
construction of the first railroads. - Compared to the traditional railway system, it
has the advantage of high speed(The hourly speed
can reach 400-550km) low pollution,low power
consumption, low noise, high safety. -
- Today only very few countries including Germany
and Japan have the technology of designing and
producing transrapid.

Airport Project Events
- On 23rd January 2001 signing of the contract for
the Shanghai airport project - 30 km between Pudong international airport and
downtown - Costs of 9 billion RMB(1.1billion USD)
- Based on the technology produced by the German
Consortium Thyssenkrupp, Siemens and Adtranz of
DaimlerChysler. - The first time for transrapid to be used for
commercial purpose. - Its considered as a reference for late
expansions.
