History

• Why the Library?
• Hennepin County Commissioners adopted a
  Diversity, Non-Discrimination and Respectful
  Workplace Policy in 2003. The following year
  Dignity and Respect issues from various county
  departments were raised in AFSCME bargaining,
  resulting in a meet and confer between the County
  and AFSCME.
• A Hennepin/AFSCME joint initiative formed the
  Dignity Respect Labor-Management Committee to
  discuss this issue and make recommendations.
