INTRODUCTION
15 August 1947. This is the date when our country
became independent. Many freedom fighters
contributed to liberating the country. The
freedom fighter also suffered a lot of atrocities
at the hand of the british. Due to which many
freedom fighters of India even sacrificed their
lives.

1.BHAGAT SINGH
Bhagat Singh was a famous Indian revolutionary
freedom fighter. He was born on 28 september
1907, in Banga Punjab. He was a very brave
freedom fighters of India. Freedom fighter bhagat
singh gave the slogan Inquilab Zindabad and it
popularized the anthem of indian independence
struggle 23 march 1931, at the age of 23, he was
hanged by the british.

2. SUBHASH CHANDRA BOSE
Subhash Chandra Bose is one of the best freedom
fighters of india. He was born on January 23
1897, in Cuttak small village of odisha. When the
second world war was going on he formed the Azad
Hind Fauj with the help of Japan to fight
against the british. The slogan Tum Mujhe Khoon
Do Mein Tumhe Azadi Dunga and Jai Hind given
by him has become the national slogan of india.
He died on 18 august 1945, in a plane crash in
Taiwan.

3. MOHANDAS KARAMCHAND GANDHI
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi known as Mahatma
Gandhi. He was the preeminent leader of Indian
nationalism in British ruled india. Mahatma
Gandhi was born in Gujarat on October 2 1869. His
father karamchand gandhi dewan or chief minister
of Porbandar the capital of a small principality
in western british india. In may 1893, mahatma
gandhi went to south africa to work as a lawyer.
Mahatma Gandhi gave many slogans like Karo Ya
Maro and Bharat Chodo. Mahatma Gandhi led many
movements to free Indians from the British. On 30
January 1948, Gandhi was shot dead by Nathuram
godse.

4. JAWAHARLAL NEHRU
Jawaharlal Nehru was the greatest freedom
fighters of India and the first prime minister of
india. Jawaharlal Nehru was born in Allahabad on
November 14 1889. At the age of fifteen, he went
to England and joined Cambridge university. After
some time Nehru became the general secretary of
the all India congress committee. When the second
world war was going on, he visited China.
Jawaharlal Nehru gave a very famous slogan Aaram
Haram Hai And he contributed to liberating the
country.

5. JHANSI KI RANI
The queen of Jhansi is known as rani lakshmibai.
Rani lakshmibai of Jhansi, born on november 19,
1828 is a prominent figure in Indian history. The
queen of jhansi fought bravely not only against
the British but also against the traitors of the
country. A line composed for the queen of jhansi
is as follows Budele Harbelo Ke Muh Hamne Suni
Kahani Thi Khub Ladi Mardani Veh To Jhansi Wali
Rani Thi. On 18 june 1858, the queen of jhansi
died at the age of 29 due to a sword blow on the
head while fighting the british.

6. CHANDRA SHEKHAR AZAD
Chandrashekhar Azad was a prominent figure in the
struggle for Indian independence against British
rule. Azad was born in Bhavra on july 23 1906.
Chandrashekhar Azad organized and led a group of
militant youth during Indias independence
movement. Azad joined the Indian national
movement at a young age. Azad is one of those
revolutionaries who sacrificed his life to give
independence to india. Chandrashakher azad wanted
that he should ot fall into the hand of the
british. 27 February 1931, at the age of 24
Chandrashekhar Azad shot himself.

7. BAL GANGADHAR TILAK
Bal Gangadhar Tilak was the greatest freedom
fighter of india. Bal Gangadhar Tilak was born in
maharashtra on july 23 1856. Bal Gangadhar Tilak
helped lay the foundation for Indias
independence by turning his own challenge to
British rule into a national movement. He was the
first to raise the demand for complete
independence during British rule. Tilak gave the
very famous slogan Swaraj Mera Janam Sidh
Adhikar Hai Aur Mein Ise Lekar Rahunga. Tilak
was also known for his revolutionary ideas. This
brave freedom fighter of India died on 1 August
1920, in mumbai.

8. SAROJINI NAIDU
Sarojini Naidu besides being a freedom fighters
of india and also the first female president of
the Indian Congress party. She was born in a
bengali family on 13 February 1879, in Hyderabad.
Sarojini Naidu supported various movements to
gain independence for india. Naidu was involved
in known cooperation movement, home rule
movement, salt satyagraha.she was arrested five
times during the freedom struggle. Sarojini naidu
was known as bharat kokila. She died of a heart
attack on 2 March 1949, at the age of 70.

9. LAL BAHADUR SHASTRI
Lal Bahadur Shastri was the great freedom fighter
of india. Shastri was a very brave and second
prime minister of india. Shastri was born in
Mughalsarai on october 2 1904. He made a very
important contribution in liberating india. He is
known for his simple nature. His dedication and
harmony toward the country were his distinct
identity. Shastri played an important role in
liberating and leading the country. He gave the
best slogan Jai Jawan Jai Kisan. And on 11
february 1966 this great revolutionary gave up
his life

10. DR. RAJENDRA PRASAD
Dr. Rajendra Prasad was an influential Indian
independence leader and the first president of
india. He was born on 3 December 1884, in Ziradei
village of Saran district Bihar. He was a lawyer,
journalist and litterateur. He was known for his
humanity, intelligence and Dedication to the
nation. He is one of those great revolutionaries
who took part in the Indian national movement.
Dr. Rajendra Prasad was also awarded the Bharat
ratan. After some time he shifted to an ashram in
patna. He spent the rest of his life in the
peaceful and serene environment here and passed
away on 28 February 1963.

CONCLUSIONS
These are some of the great revolutionaries who
contributed to making India independent. He took
active part in the Indian national movement and
endured the atrocities of the British to liberate
the country. All these revolutionaries tried to
bring about change in the country by raising
their voice against the atrocities being
committed on indian at that time. Because of all
these great freedom fighters of India today we
are roaming freely in our country and he also
sacrificed his life to free us.
