RDPS is synonymous with extending prudent
learning that caters to global needs and
aspirations. Imbued with a vision to set global
teaching-learning standards, the school ushered
in an era of international fellowship and
educational integration through Multi-Cultural
Exchange Programmes with prestigious
institutions across the globe twenty years ago.
Guided by its mission of promoting cross cultural
harmony - Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam i.e. the world
is a family, these programmes accomplish
multifarious objectives for its
participants- Experience inter-cultural learning
through extended visits and residential
experiences. Develop joint curriculum activities
and supporting materials by exploring artistic
and cultural avenues. Broaden and deepen the
understanding of inter-cultural learning. Share
practical experiences of the learning environment
and education systems. The exchange programmes
incorporate the Staff and Students Exchange,
Snail Mail and Collaborative Projects.
3Coming together is a beginning Keeping together
is a progress Working together is a success.
Students/Staff Exchange Programme
- An exchange programme provides opportunity for
language learning, cultural immersion, new
friendship and personal growth. It not only
provides an insight into two cultures but also
helps in imbibing futuristic and progressive
methods for the benefit of students and staff.
We, at Rukmini Devi Public School, believe in the
vision of sharing and learning and have
successful cultural and educational exchange
programme with different schools across the
globe. In all the exchange programmes, a basic
plan of action is followed i.e., the students and
teachers stay with the families of their
counterparts in India / partner country, work on
theme based projects, attend classes, workshops,
interactive sessions, and visit places of
cultural and historical importance to understand
the various realms of each others culture. - Digital Collaboration
- The advanced technology based learning culture of
the school encourages cognitive interaction,
consideration of perspectives and collaborative
working with peers across the globe. Initiated
in the year 2003, the Collaborative Projects
create new vistas of knowledge for the learners.
Fostering life-long global associations between
e-pals, these projects promote - - ??Multi-cultural understanding, teamwork, civic
responsibility and collaboration. - ??Analytical and communication skills.
- ??Opportunities for gathering and analyzing data.
Snail - Mail
??Recursive interaction of knowledge and mutual
learning.
Sharing and caring are the bubbles of
effervescence, which not only give joy to others
but also enrich our perception of others.
Snail-mail programme with the schools in Germany,
Spain, Singapore, Russia and France has been a
great success. Children in the age group of 6
-10 years exchange letters and share information
about each others country and culture. The
communication is via post and thus named 'Snail
Mail', but it is not the speed that matters for
these young learners, rather its the strong bond
of friendship that counts.
