Title: How to get (Planning and Scheduling) PSP Certification
1How to get (Planning and Scheduling) PSP
Certi?cation
We all understand that time is money. One of the
Project Management Triangle's constraints is time
(also called Triple Constraint or the Iron
Triangle). One of the criteria that define
project success is timely completion. Planning
and Scheduling is a critical knowledge area in
the Engineering, Construction, and Project
Management fields (ECPM). Using Planning and
Scheduling tools and techniques increases the
likelihood of project completion on time, if not
guarantees it.
A skilled Planning and Scheduling professional
should be familiar with Project Management
fundamentals, Critical Path Methods (CPM),
Earned Value Management (EVM), and other related
knowledge areas.
2About Planning and Scheduling (PSP)
Certi?cation The Planning Scheduling
Professional (PSP) certification program of the
Association of Cost Engineers (AACE)
International is intended to establish
credentials for Planning and Scheduling
Professionals. AACE International is a globally
recognized professional organization in the field
of cost engineering and project management.
The PSP Certification program allows
professionals to validate their skills and
knowledge in the domain of project planning and
scheduling against international professional
practices standards. This certification will
distinguish you as a Planning Scheduling
Professional who possesses the necessary
knowledge and skills to ensure that project time
objectives are met. Employers can identify those
who meet the program's competency standards by
using AACE's PSP certification, which includes
an exam and experience validation.
PSP Eligibility To be eligible for CCP
certification, you must have at least 8 full
years of professional experience, with up to 4
years of that experience being substituted by a
college/university degree. In other words, if you
have a four-year college/university degree, you
will need another four years of experience.
Engineering, building construction, construction
technology, business, economics, accounting,
construction management, architecture, computer
science, mathematics, and other related degrees
are available. When completing the PSP
application, you will be required to provide a
copy of your experience and education
certificates as proof.
PSP Exam Format Fee The exam is administered
using computer-based testing (CBT). It includes
multiple-choice and scenario questions. There are
120 questions on the exam.
There are 119 multiple-choice objective type
single and compound questions. There is only one

compound questions range from 61 to 120.
The exam will last 5 hours. To be certified, you
must obtain 70 of the possible points.
3The exam is a closed book test, which means you
are not permitted to bring any books or paper
