Modification Task Force. This task force has been
empowered to modify the current continuing
certification (ConCert) exam and develop
alternative pathways for emergency physicians to
maintain board certification. He has also written
exam questions for the ConCert exam and Lifelong
Learning Self-Assessment exam.

O. John Ma, MD was elected on to the Board of
Directors in 2013. There he served on 7
committees and chair 3 task forces. I also served
as senior editor of our Lifelong Learning
Self-Assessment exam and senior editor for the
newly created MyEMCert exam.

O. John Ma has edited 20 reference textbooks that
have been published in over 10 languages, which
include Ma and Mateers Emergency Ultrasound and
Tinitnallis Emergency Medicine textbook.

O. John Ma, MD has focused his research primarily
on the applications of ultrasound in diagnosing
injuries in trauma patients. He is the recipient
of four Teacher-of-the-Year awards and the 2005
SAEM Excellence in Ultrasound Education Award.
