OVERVIEW OF CAREGIVERS
A caregiver is a family member that takes care or
provide care to a loved one. Caring for seniors
who cannot take care of themselves can be
stressful and overwhelming for a family member
over time. Hiring a caregiver gives you peace of
mind even while you are away from home. They can
assist in all daily activities including cooking,
bathing, dressing, grooming, exercises,
housekeeping, and taking your elderly loved one
to the doctor, supermarket, pharmacy, and to
complete many more tasks.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY OF CAREGIVERS
Caregivers may have a range of responsibilities
from attending to a person's physical needs,
including preparing meals and helping the person
bathe and dress, to logistical tasks such as
driving the person to the doctor, buying
groceries, and keeping the home clean. Help
clients or residents with the activities of daily
living. Prepare meals, cleans house or does
laundry Order and pick up medications at the
drugstore Perform personal care tasks such as
hygiene, ambulation, eating, dressing, toileting,
and shaving. Talk with clients, give them
companionship while participating in resident
activities. Change bed linens, clean and iron
laundry and assist in keeping room, cabinet, and
dresser drawers neat and clean. Discuss the care
plan and needs with the doctors and care managers
Create and maintain a pleasant work environment.

ABOUT BRIGHTER CARE SERVICES
Brighter Care Services ( BCS) provides services
that will assist individuals who receive waiver
services in gaining access to needed waiver
services and other state Medicaid plan
services. Regardless of the funding
source, BCS provides other medical, social, and
educational services.
