5AUDIENCE PROFILE
- Fans of crime films
- 15 to 45 year old males and females, but men in
particular - Short Film audience as opposed to Hollywood
blockbuster audience.
6Genre and Style
- Its a Noir film about two detectives
- Its Genre is a Crime Drama
- Well be using black and white filters within the
film
7CHARACTER
- Characters The two detectives Jack Hanlon as
Joey Taylor (the hero) a younger, less
experienced detective and Patrick Laville as
Tommy Hudson (the villain) a jaded grumpy
detective Steve Boyes as the Chief of Police
(whimsical character) who thinks he can control
both of them. Ellie as the girl who was murdered
(victim and the enigma as shes the one whos
murdered). - Also a bunch of suspects (the helpers).
8Costume, PROPS and lighting
We will be using suits for the two main
detectives, everyone else will most likely be
using normal clothing. For Props well need guns
and other detective items. We will be playing
around with the lighting as there will be a dark
interrogation room and when one of the detectives
are drunk well be using sharp bright lights.
Some of the sequences will be Noir style so we
need to get the low-key lighting correct.
9Setting, location and era
- Itll be set in the present although there will
be flashbacks to earlier events in the story. The
setting will be interview rooms, houses, a field,
a car and maybe a few other places like a river.
The location is the Media Building for the
interview rooms as we can make it completely
pitch black and play with the lighting easier.
10time and tech
- TIME Were going to desaturate the colour to
make it black and white in the flashbacks, making
it more atmospheric, fitting with the style and
idiomatic of noir. - TECH Were going to control the lighting and
were going to film all the flashbacks in one go
to get the continuity right.
