Living Foreign body

• Causes Pain and intense Irritation
• First insect should be killed by household remedy
  like instilling oil or chloroform water or spirit
• No attempt should made to catch insect alive and
  removal

Maggots In the Ear

• Larva of house fly is Maggots
• Common in August September and October
• Pain swelling and Blood stained watery discharge
  ear
• Syringing not advisable because perforation
  tympanic membrane is usual

Removal of Maggots

• Antimaggots solution
• 4 Xylocaine
• Turpentine Oil
• Glycerine

• Removal with forceps or suction clearance

When not to Handle .....referral

• All impacted foreign bodies
• Where earlier attempts of extraction has made
• FB with bleeding ear
