living on a healthy diet. Salads can be made
interesting by adding some complexity and texture
to it. You can add some pine nuts, parmesan,
plumped currants, shaved cabbages, oranges,
basil, etc. Whatever the texture of your salad
might be, you need to give them a dressing of
infused cherry balsamic vinegar to make it lip
smacking delicious.
3Preparing cherry balsamic vinegar is very easy
and simple to make. Vinegar has a low pH, which
makes it safe to store in the refrigerator after
it is prepared. Cherries are the perfect option
in fruit to use as they are not sweet enough for
eating.
Cherry Balsamic Vinegar
4One cup of good quality balsamic vinegar
Two cups of fresh cherries
5Place a pan over a medium heat then pour the
vinegar into it and allow it to boil. Put the
cherries into a bowl and pour the heated vinegar
over the cherries. Leave the mixture to cool at a
room temperature. After some time with a potato
masher crush the cherries just to release their
juice. Then transfer the mixture into a container
and seal it tightly. Refrigerate the mixture for
one week or two to allow the flavor to develop.
6Ensure that the vinegar is strained properly
before using it. Discard the cherries and pits.
Store the strained mixture in the refrigerator.
Use it for dressing your salad or topping it on
baked brie.
