Goals for Accelerometer Specifications

• Through experiments we intend to determine
• Required bandwidth to detect meaningful
  accelerations
• Range of accelerations generated from impact and
  foot slip
• Required accelerometer sensitivity

Accelerometer Measurements

• Analog outputs of accelerometer were used
• Bandwidth was set to 500 Hz
• Sampled at 2500 Hz using LabView
• Output in following plots is about 1V/g, but the
  resolution is only about 0.02V
• Accelerometer placed such that the X-axis was
  tangential to surface, Y-axis was normal to it.

Foot was moved in a circular motion, such that
the liftoff angle was very shallow, and it
slipped along the surface before lifting off.

that occur when the foot is grasped firmly and
