introduction

• This book is about a poor family that lives in a
  cabin. They have a dog named sounder who hunts
  with father but what happens when the father goes
  to jail and sounder is shot and ran away?

Sounder

• Sounder is the main character in this story he
  hunts with father and has the most beautiful
  bark. He is a loyal,smart and trustworthy coon
  dog.

The boy

• The boy often gets lonely . He likes to listen to
  his mother hum.He really wants to get an
  education so he can read. He also loves
  Sounder.

Father

• Father hunts all day and found Sounder when he
  wasn't more than a pup. And he stole food and
  went to jail.He got in a dynamite accident and
  came back from jail early.

Mother

• Mother sells nuts for money and hums to not be
  lonely.She worries about the boy a lot and often
  asks people to read the newspaper to her.

The cabin

• The cabin is where most of this story is usually
  taking place the family lives here and the boy
  thinks it is lonely. The boys brothers and
  sisters think this too.

• The boy went to the town with his Father and
  loves the lights and toys at Christmas. This town
  is where the boy goes to school and the father
  goes to jail.

• The school takes place later in the story when
  the boy meets the teacher. Then the teacher
  offers him a invitation to go to school. The boy
  is surprised when he sees two lanterns in one
  room!

• The jailhouse is where the father goes to jail
  and a scary, red faced man is guarding it. The
  boy is very scared of this man because he pushed
  him.

• My favorite part of this book is when the boy
  looks at the the Christmas lights because I like
  looking at Christmas lights to.

• I dont like the part when the boy goes to school
  because they didnt tell about the day at
  school.I think this was a pretty good book.
