Introduction
  • How many times have you looked at your classroom
and thought  Wow, this room is SOOO boring!
  • Well here is your chance! You have been selected
to be on the television show Flip My Classroom!
  • You will be given the title of chief designer.
You will also be given 5000.00 to spend on any
    materials you need.

4
Task
  • You and your peers will be competing in a
Classroom Contest. Your job is to create the
most interesting classroom. You will redecorate
your classroom and can do anything you want--but
you have to stay within your budget. You cannot
show or tell anyone any part of your project
until the approved time. No cheating!
  • Your completed classroom is due on
  • May 30,2007
  • Good luck and happy designing!

5
Procedure
  • As a participant on Flip My Classroom, 1st you
will need to take measurements of your classroom.
These will be your actual measurements. Then
    using a scale of
  • ¼ in. 12 in. you will find the scale
measurements. You will record all of your
    measurements in Packet 1.
  • The next step is to create a scale drawing of
your classroom on graph paper. This scale drawing
needs to include all of the measurements you
    found in the first step.
  • On the back of your drawing, you will also need
to write at least 3-5 things you would HATE to
see in your classroom. Please provide a reason
    why for each.
  • This is due by Monday, 05/07/07. Your completion
of this portion of the project will count as a
    QUIZ grade.

6
Continued
  • The 2nd part of the project is to begin finding
materials you will need to decorate your
classroom. You will get a chance to use the
Internet and the provided websites to select
items you will include in your classroom.
  • Keep in mind that you are trying to win this
contest. You want to make a classroom that your
    peers will absolutely love!
  • You will record your items and their prices on
the Classroom Budget worksheet. Be sure to
include any discounts and sales tax. Remember you
have 5000.00 to spend (find those sales!).
  • Part 2 is due on Friday, May 25, 2007 and will
    count as a QUIZ grade!

7
Dates to Know
  • Monday, 4/30/07 and Tuesday, 5/01/07 you will be

Tuesday you will have both scale and actual
    measurements.

    scale model using all measurements.
  • Monday, 5/07/07 Part 1 of your project is due!

  • The presentation of your classroom is up to you.
Each of the three required parts can be put
together in a collage, a written report, a
poster, a power point presentation, a music

Conclusion
After all projects have been turned in we will
spend a day revealing our designs to see how
everyone reacts to the different classrooms. We
will also reflect on the whole experience. After
completing this web quest, you will have gained a
real life experience of putting and organizing an
educational environment space. You will know how
to find a variety of different items and how to
figure out costs when using a budget.
