Opening library catalog Search Page

• Enter address on your web browsers address bar

• To open ECU library catalog, click the
• Books, CDs and more (Catalogue) link in the
  middle column

• The ECU library catalog page.
• You can search for material using Keyword, Title,
  Author or Subject
• The Reserve option allows you to search for
  material placed on Reserve by lecturers or
  librarian.
• You can also select Journal option if you need
  information from a journal print or online.

Search using keyword

• To search using Keyword
• Type in your keyword. For example economics
• Select material format and library branch
• ECU library is divided into 3 branches
  (Joondalup, Mt Lawley South West)
• For this example, select Online format
• Hit Submit button to perform search

• There are 1009 hits based on the search.
• Details provided for each hit include the title,
  author, publisher and year of publication.
• To open the electronic resource, click the title.

Connect to electronic text

• To access selected document, click on Connect to
  electronic version link

• If the document is an electronic book (e-book)
  you will be required to log in using your ECU
  login ID.
• Offshore libraries like AUSI and CIBT have
  restricted access to the EBL.
• You must have log in ID in order to access.

Connecting to electronic journal

• To access electronic journals (e-journals),
  select the Journal option from the main library
  catalogue page.

• The database contains all the journals available
  through ECU library
• Type the journal title you want to find.
• You can also enter part of the journal title
  the system will search for all that match your
  search
• For example, Management will result in all
  titles starting with this word.

  articles

• All possible connections to the e-journal are
  listed.
• Note the date range indicated for every link
• Select the one that fits your need.
• For example
• If you connect through Contemporary Womens
  Issues you will access articles from the journal
  between the year 1996 till 1998 only. If you
  connect through ProQuest 5000, you will be able
  to access more i.e. from 1987 to 2000

• To view any of the links provided, you must log
  in.
• Find out if you have login privileges from .
• If you do, you must have ECU ADS username or
  password

• After successful login based on your selection,
  page with journal details opens.

• Click issue link to view articles

• Click on the Full Text PDF link to open
  article in pdf format.

• The article in pdf.
• You can read it online, print out or save a copy
  in your storage device.

• To return to ECU library page, find and click
  link on the top.
• In this case, the link is on top-right.

Quick catalogue Search

• You can perform a quick search from the home page
  using search space provided on the last column.
• Input your keyword, subject, title or author.

• The 8162 records comprise both print and online
  information sources found in the ECU library.
• If item is a print version of book, the Call
  Number is provided for retrieval from the shelf.
  The location or branch library is also indicated.
