  • 1907-1909 The first phase of Cubism when both

  • 1910-1912 Second Cubist phase, Analytic Cubism,
    where objects were fragmented displayed from
    several angles at once
  • 1912 New phase called Synthetic Cubism where
    artists reconstruct the space objects of their
    works with fragmented forms, was formed when

Cubism is..
  • a more modern art movement in which forms are

    object painting the basic geometric solid of
    the subject.

Cubist Style..
  • emphasized the flat, two-dimensional surface of
    the picture plane, rejecting the traditional
    techniques of perspective, foreshortening,
    modeling, and chiaroscuro and refuting
    time-honored theories of art as the imitation of
    nature.

    simultaneously.
