• -- Assure that all new I.S. vendor contracts
  include compliance with HIPAA as part of the
  maintenance agreement.
• -- Actively engage with key business partners
  (e.g. principle payers) in planning HIPAA
  transaction and identifier testing and
  implementation.
• -- Design and build HIPAA identifiers and
  transaction data sets into the implementation of
  all systems being significantly modified or
  replaced.
