PURIM
  • 26(Therefore these days were called Purim, from
the word pur.) Because of everything written in
this letter and because of what they had seen and
what had happened to them, 27the Jews took it
upon themselves to establish the custom that they
and their descendants and all who join them
should without fail observe these two days every
year, in the way prescribed and at the time
appointed. 28These days should be remembered and
observed in every generation by every family, and
in every province and in every city. And these
days of Purim should never cease to be celebrated
by the Jews, nor should the memory of them die
    out. Esther 92628 NIV

MOST IMPORTANT!
  • 26While they were eating the Passover, Jesus
took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it
to his disciples, saying, Take and eat this is
my body. 27Then he took the cup, gave thanks
and offered it to them, saying, Drink from it,
all of you.  28This is my blood of the covenant,
which is poured out for many for the forgiveness
of sins.  29I tell you, I will not drink of this
fruit of the vine from now on until that day when
I drink it anew with you in my Fathers kingdom.
30When they had sung a hymn, they went out to the

First Memorial?
  • 13I have placed my rainbow in the clouds. It is
the sign of my covenant with you and with all the
earth. 14When I send clouds over the earth, the
rainbow will appear in the clouds, 15and I will
remember my covenant with you and with all living
creatures. Never again will the floodwaters
    destroy all life. Genesis 913-16

11
Longest Lasting?
  • The Sabbath
  • 8Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it
holy. 11For in six days the Lord made the heavens
and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them,
but he rested on the seventh day. Exodus 208,11.
    NIV

Least Understood?
  • This is a day to remember. Each year, from
generation to generation, you must celebrate it
as a special festival to the LORD. This is a law
for all time.  17Celebrate this Festival of
Unleavened Bread, for it will remind you that I
brought your forces out of the land of Egypt on
this very day. This festival will be a permanent
law for you celebrate this day from generation
    to generation. Ex. 1211ff.
