Acts 21-4 (NKJV) 1 When the Day of Pentecost
had fully come, they were all with one accord in
one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from
heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it
filled the whole house where they were sitting.
3
3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as
of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And
they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and
began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit
gave them utterance.
4
Acts 25-13 (NKJV) 5 And there were dwelling in
Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation
under heaven.
5
12 So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying
to one another, Whatever could this mean? (What
was that?) 13 Others mocking said, They are full
of new wine.
6
Acts 214-21 (KNJV) 14 But Peter, standing up
with the eleven, raised his voice and said to
them, Men of Judea and all who dwell in
Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my
words. 15 For these are not drunk, as you
suppose, since it is only the third hour of the
day.
7
16 But THIS IS THAT which was spoken by the
prophet Joel 17 And it shall come to pass in
the last days, says God, That I will pour out of
My Spirit on all flesh Your sons and your
daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall
see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.
8
18 And on My menservants and on My maidservants I
will pour out My Spirit in those days And they
shall prophesy. 21 And it shall come to pass
That whoever calls on the name of the LORD Shall
be saved.
9
Acts 237-39 (NKJV) 37 Now when they heard this,
they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and
the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what
shall we do? 38 Then Peter said to them,
Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in
the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of
sins
10
and you shall receive the gift of the Holy
Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your
children, and to all who are afar off, as many as
the Lord our God will call.
11
John 1416-17 (NKJV) 16 And I will pray the
Father, and He will give you another Helper, that
He may abide with you forever 17 the Spirit of
truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it
neither sees Him nor knows Him but you know Him,
for He dwells with you and will be in you.
12
John 167 (New King James Version) Nevertheless I
tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that
I go away for if I do not go away, the Helper
will not come to you but if I depart, I will
send Him to you.
13
Comforter - Helper counselor, advocate. One who
is summoned to the side of another to help.
Advantage a favorable position, benefit, profit
or gain. The condition of being ahead.
14
Two distinct works of the Holy Spirit ...
The Holy Spirit works within the believer after
the new birth to develop character
The Holy Spirit works upon the believer in the
baptism of the Holy Spirit to empower for
Christian service.
15
Acts 14-5 (New King James Version) 4 And being
assembled together with them, He commanded them
not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the
Promise of the Father, which, He said, you
have heard from Me 5 for John truly baptized
with water, but you shall be baptized with the
Holy Spirit not many days from now.
16
Acts 18 (KJV) But you shall receive power when
the Holy Spirit has come upon you and you shall
be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea
and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
17
John 2020,22 (KJV) And when he had so said, he
shewed unto them his hands and his side. Then
were the disciples glad, when they saw the
Lord.... And when he had said this, he breathed
on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy
Ghost
18
Acts 85-6,8 (NKJV) 5 Then Philip went down to
the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them.
6 And the multitudes with one accord heeded the
things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the
miracles which he did. 8 And there was great joy
in that city.
19
Acts 812 (NKJV) 12 But when they believed
Philip as he preached the things concerning the
kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both
men and women were baptized.
20
Acts 814-17 (NKJV) 14 Now when the apostles who
were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received
the word of God, they sent Peter and John to
them, 15 who, when they had come down, prayed for
them that they might receive the Holy Spirit.
21
16 For as yet He had fallen upon none of them.
They had only been baptized in the name of the
Lord Jesus. 17 Then they laid hands on them, and
they received the Holy Spirit.
22
Acts 1028 (NKJV) 28 Then he said to them, You
know how unlawful it is for a Jewish man to keep
company with or go to one of another nation. But
God has shown me that I should not call any man
common or unclean.
23
Acts 1033-35 (NKJV) 33 So I sent to you
immediately, and you have done well to come. Now
therefore, we are all present before God, to hear
all the things commanded you by God. 34 Then
Peter opened his mouth and said In truth I
perceive that God shows no partiality.
24
35 But in every nation whoever fears Him and
works righteousness is accepted by Him.
25
Acts 1044-48 (NKJV) 44 While Peter was still
speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon
all those who heard the word. 45 And those of the
circumcision who believed were astonished, as
many as came with Peter, because the gift of the
Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles
also.
26
Acts 1046-48 (NKJV) For they heard them speak
with tongues and magnify God. Then Peter
answered, 47 Can anyone forbid water, that these
should not be baptized who have received the Holy
Spirit just as we have? 48 And he commanded them
to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they
asked him to stay a few days.
27
Acts 191-6 (NKJV) 1 And it happened, while
Apollos was at Corinth, that Paul, having passed
through the upper regions, came to Ephesus. And
finding some disciples
28
2 he said to them, Did you receive the Holy
Spirit when you believed? So they said to him,
We have not so much as heard whether there is a
Holy Spirit. 3 And he said to them, Into what
then were you baptized? So they said, Into
Johns baptism.
29
4 Then Paul said, John indeed baptized with a
baptism of repentance, saying to the people that
they should believe on Him who would come after
him, that is, on Christ Jesus. 5 When they heard
this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord
Jesus.
30
6 And when Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy
Spirit came upon them, and they spoke with
tongues and prophesied.
31
Acts 18 (KJV) But ye shall receive power, after
that the Holy Ghost is come upon you and ye
shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and
in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the
uttermost part of the earth.
32
Acts 237-39 (New King James Version) 38 Then
Peter said to them, Repent, and let every one of
you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for
the remission of sins and you shall receive the
gift of the Holy Spirit. 39 For the promise is to
you and to your children, and to all who are afar
off, as many as the Lord our God will call.
33
Luke 1111-13 (KJV) If a son shall ask bread of
any of you that is a father, will he give him a
stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish
give him a serpent? 12 Or if he shall ask an
egg, will he offer him a scorpion?
34
13 If ye then, being evil, know how to give
good gifts unto your children how much more
shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit
to them that ask him?
