Title: Acts 2:14 NKJV
1(No Transcript)
2Acts 21-4 (NKJV) 1 When the Day of Pentecost
had fully come, they were all with one accord in
one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from
heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it
filled the whole house where they were sitting.
33 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as
of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And
they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and
began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit
gave them utterance.
4Acts 25-13 (NKJV) 5 And there were dwelling in
Jerusalem Jews, devout men, from every nation
under heaven.
512 So they were all amazed and perplexed, saying
to one another, Whatever could this mean? (What
was that?) 13 Others mocking said, They are full
of new wine.
6Acts 214-21 (KNJV) 14 But Peter, standing up
with the eleven, raised his voice and said to
them, Men of Judea and all who dwell in
Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and heed my
words. 15 For these are not drunk, as you
suppose, since it is only the third hour of the
day.
716 But THIS IS THAT which was spoken by the
prophet Joel 17 And it shall come to pass in
the last days, says God, That I will pour out of
My Spirit on all flesh Your sons and your
daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall
see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.
818 And on My menservants and on My maidservants I
will pour out My Spirit in those days And they
shall prophesy. 21 And it shall come to pass
That whoever calls on the name of the LORD Shall
be saved.
9John 167 (New King James Version) Nevertheless I
tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that
I go away for if I do not go away, the Helper
will not come to you but if I depart, I will
send Him to you.
10Acts 237-39 (NKJV) 37 Now when they heard this,
they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and
the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what
shall we do? 38 Then Peter said to them,
Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in
the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of
sins
11and you shall receive the gift of the Holy
Spirit. 39 For the promise is to you and to your
children, and to all who are afar off, as many as
the Lord our God will call.
12Two distinct works of the Holy Spirit ...
The Holy Spirit works within the believer after
the new birth to develop character
The Holy Spirit works upon the believer in the
baptism of the Holy Spirit to empower for
Christian service.
13Titus 35 (NKJV) 5 not by works of righteousness
which we have done, but according to His mercy He
saved us, through the washing of regeneration and
renewing of the Holy Spirit,
14Ezekiel 3625-26 (NKJV) 25 Then I will sprinkle
clean water on you, and you shall be clean I
will cleanse you from all your filthiness and
from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new
heart and put a new spirit within you
15I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh
and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My
Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My
statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do
them.
16Rom 323 (KJV) For all have sinned, and come
short of the glory of God
17Rom 512 (KJV) Wherefore, as by one man sin
entered into the world, and death by sin and so
death passed upon all men, for that all have
sinned
18Gen 217 (KJV) But of the tree of the knowledge
of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it for
in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt
surely die.
19Gen 51-3 (KJV) This is the book of the
generations of Adam. In the day that God created
man, in the likeness of God made he him 2 Male
and female created he them
20and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in
the day when they were created. 3 And Adam lived
an hundred and thirty years, and begat a son in
his own likeness, after his image and called his
name Seth
21Gal 321-22 (ISV) So is the law in conflict with
the promises of God? Of course not! For if a law
had been given that could give us life, then
certainly righteousness would come through the
law.
2222 But the Scripture has put everything under
the power of sin, so that what was promised by
the faithfulness of Christ might be given to
those who believe.
23Heb 101,4 (GNB) The Jewish Law is not a full
and faithful model of the real things it is only
a faint outline of the good things to come. The
same sacrifices are offered forever, year after
year. How can the Law, then, by means of these
sacrifices make perfect the people who come to
God?
244 For the blood of bulls and goats can never take
away sins.
25Heb 1014 (GNB) With one sacrifice, then, he has
made perfect forever those who are purified from
sin. 15 And the Holy Spirit also gives us his
witness. First he says,
2616 "This is the covenant that I will make with
them in the days to come, says the Lord I will
put my laws in their hearts and write them on
their minds." 17 And then he says, "I will not
remember their sins and evil deeds any longer."
27Ezek 3627 (NKJV) 27 I will put My Spirit within
you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you
will keep My judgments and do them.
28Rom 811 (GNB) If the Spirit of God, who raised
Jesus from death, lives in you, then he who
raised Christ from death will also give life to
your mortal bodies by the presence of his Spirit
in you.
292Co 416 (ISV) That's why we are not
discouraged. No, even if our outer man is wearing
out, our inner man is being renewed day by day.
30Ephesians 316 (New King James Version) 16 that
He would grant you, according to the riches of
His glory, to be strengthened with might through
His Spirit in the inner man,
31Eph 518-20 (GNB) Do not get drunk with wine,
which will only ruin you instead, be filled with
the Spirit. 19 Speak to one another with the
words of psalms, hymns, and sacred songs
32sing hymns and psalms to the Lord with praise in
your hearts. 20 In the name of our Lord Jesus
Christ, always give thanks for everything to God
the Father.
33Psalm 1032-5 (NKJV) 2 Bless the LORD, O my
soul, And forget not all His benefits 3 Who
forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your
diseases, 4 Who redeems your life from
destruction,
34Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender
mercies, 5 Who satisfies your mouth with good
things, So that your youth is renewed like the
eagles.
35Isaiah 4031 (NKJV) 31 But those who wait on the
LORD Shall renew their strength They shall mount
up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not
be weary, They shall walk and not faint.
36Gal 516-25 (ALT) But I say, be walking about
fig., conducting yourselves in or, by the
Spirit, and you shall by no means fulfill or,
carry out the lust of the flesh.
3717 For the flesh lusts contrary to the Spirit,
and the Spirit contrary to the flesh. Now these
are hostile to one another, so that what you
should be desiring, these things you are not
doing. 18 But since you are led by the Spirit,
you are not under the Law.
3819 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which
are adultery, sexual sin, impurity or,
immorality, flagrant sexual immorality, 20
idolatry, witchcraft, hostilities or, feuds,
quarrels, jealous rivalries, angry outbursts,
selfish ambitions, divisions or, discords,
heretical sects,
3921 envies or, jealousies, murders,
drunkennesses, drunken orgies, and the things
like these which I forewarn you, just as I also
warned you before that the ones practicing
such things will not inherit the kingdom of
God.
4022 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy,
peace or, freedom from anxiety, patience,
kindness, goodness or, generosity, faith, 23
gentleness or, considerateness, self-control.
Against such there is no law.
4124 Now the ones who are Christ's have
crucified the flesh with its passions and its
desires or, lusts. 25 Since we are living in
or, by the Spirit, let us also be keeping in
line with fig., be living in conformity with
the Spirit.
421Co 31-3 (WNT) And as for myself, brethren, I
found it impossible to speak to you as spiritual
men. It had to be as to worldlings--mere babes in
Christ. 2 I fed you with milk and not with solid
food, since for this you were not yet strong
enough. And even now you are not strong enough
433 you are still unspiritual. For so long as
jealousy and strife continue among you, can it be
denied that you are unspiritual and are living
and acting like mere men of the world?
44John 155 (DRB) I am the vine you the
branches. He that abideth in me, and I in him,
the same beareth much fruit for without me you
can do nothing
