Red Flags

• In the URL, a tilde usually indicates a
  personal web directory rather than being part of
  the organization's official web site.
• Check the URL is it .com, .edu, .org, etc?
• How did you find the site? Go to Google, Yahoo,
  or AltaVista and type linkltURLgt You will get a
  list of sites that refer to the link you are
  researching. Check out a few of them to gauge
  bias, etc.
