Revising---the process of adding, subtracting or
rearranging parts of a written work.
  • VOICE - the writers personal stamp. It is his
    or her fingerprints. In writing, voice is the way
    words sound. As you put ideas into sentences and
    paragraphs, try to express your ideas simply and
    naturally. Your writing should sound like you!!

  • WORD CHOICE - use strong, vivid language paint
    a picture with words, appeal to more than one of
    the senses, choose words to clarify meaning and
    expression

Editing
  • Peer editing is valuable. Have another person
    read your paper and look for spelling and grammar
    errors AS WELL AS indicating places where you may
    broaden your ideas on the topic.
  • Be sure to use all the tools your computer
    provides to you to help find those little
    spelling and grammar errors.
  • Read your paper aloud---you will HEAR your errors
    as well as SEE them!

Reflection
  • Reflection is an opportunity for writers to think
    about the writing strategies they use and the
    decisions they make as they write. It is the
    time to sit back and think about the work which
    has evolved and determine the strengths and
    weaknesses which must be considered for the next
    project.
