What is RSS
  • Stands for Real Simple Syndication.
  • According to Wikipedia RSS is a family of XML
    file formats for web syndication used by (amongst
    other things) news websites.
  • Any type of information web site uses RSS
    today.

How does it Work?
  • A program known as a news feed reader or
    aggregator can check RSS-enabled web pages on
    behalf of a user and display any updated articles
    that it finds.

Web-based Aggregators
  • Available to all Internet capable computers.
  • Typically a web site that you have to sign up
    for.
  • Example Bloglines or My Yahoo.
