different from the Design Sets gallery. - In the Design set gallery you will find different
templates but the same style. For example, a
design set may contain a business card template,
a fax cover sheet template, and a newsletter
template, and the templates will match.
5Choosing Templates by Publication Type
- The types of templates found under Publication
for Print are brochures, banners, newsletters,
advertisements, business cards, and much more. - Other publication types include Web sites and
e-mail.
6Choosing Templates by Design Sets

- All you need to do is choose a style, and
remember which style you used.
7Choosing Templates by Web Site and E-mail
- There are four types of website categories to
choose from the easy web site builder, 3-page
web sites templates, web sites templates that are
directed towards Product Sales, and Professional

different kinds of blank templates, which are
unformatted template layouts.
9Create and Open Publications from Existing
Publications
- This feature is found on the New Publication Task
pane. - When you are creating a new publication from an
existing publication, you are duplicating the
publication.
10Creating a Publication from a Template
- Creating a publication from a template is when
you have created a template and it has been saved
as a template. - Otherwise this feature will not be listed in the
New from a Design Area.
11Incorporating Word Documents
- Publisher allows you to import Word documents to
a publication as well as import a Word document
into a pre-designed publication. - Both ways allow you to apply Publisher features
to a Word document such as colour schemes, font
styles and design templates. - Importing Word documents is done through the
Import Word Wizard. Using the wizard will make
sure the import is done correctly.
12Displaying and Incorporating Publication Options
- The publication option task pane will display
itself immediately after you have chosen a design
template. - It is usually displayed after the publication
type is chosen because it is the next step in
creating a publication. - If the task pane is closed it can be re-displayed
by selecting Format from the Main Menu.
13Displaying and Incorporating Designs
- The publications design task pane is great when
you want to change the design of your
publication. - To display Publication design task panes go to
Format and select Publication Designs. - When the designs are displayed select the design
from the task pane. Then, the design will be
transferred to the publication displayed in the
Publication Window.
14Resetting Publication Designs
- Resetting a design means you have made changes to
a design template and decide that you want to go
back to the original default template. - This feature is found at the bottom of the
Publication Design Task pane.
15Creating your Own Colour Scheme
- At the bottom of the Colour Scheme task pane, you
will find the Custom colour Scheme Link. - This link will take you to the custom colour
dialog box where you can change an existing
colour scheme or create a new colour scheme.
16Applying Colour Schemes and Removing Custom
colour Schemes
- To apply a colour scheme select the colour scheme
from the task pane. - To delete a custom colour scheme open the custom
colour dialog box, switch to the standard tab,
select the colour scheme you wish to delete, and
select the Delete Scheme button.
17Creating Backgrounds
- The background task pane and dialog box is
sectioned off into categories Gradient, Texture,
Pattern, Picture, and Tint. - Another background option available is adding
background sound to Web pages which is discussed
