- Global food prices have gone up 83 in the last 3
years - 750,000 Canadians rely on at least one of over
650 food banks - 788,000 Canadian children live in poverty (2005)
- 38 of families headed by single parents live in
poverty.

Who Cares What Happens? PEOPLE CARE.
- In 2007 - 43 Million people worldwide stood up
for action against poverty and inequality - People are taking up various actions against the
corporate control of agriculture - The Parliament of Canada is planning to establish
a national poverty strategy - Quebec has achieved a 40 reduction in its child
poverty rate since 2000.
