Secret Annex
  • Anne Frank and her family hid on June
5, 1942. Otto Frank also invited the Van Daan
family and a dentist, Albert Dussel, to hide with
them. Anne Franks neighbor and friend Miep
Geis, helped them hide out by bringing them food
and other supplies they needed. They hid behind
a bookcase, which led to the attic. Miep Geis
put her life at risk by helping them, but she
still did it with no hesitation.

Anne Frank
  • The Secret Annex, their hiding place,
was discovered on August 4, 1944. They managed
to hide in a small attic for two and a half
years. When they were discovered they were
arrested and taken to concentration camps. Anne
Frank and her sister Margot died of typhus, in
    Bergen-Belsen in 1945.

Marion P.
  • Marion P. wasnt a Jew, but she and her dad saved
many Dutch Jews. She made her decision when she
was driving to work one day when she saw Nazis
soldiers roughing up little children. She
states, I seen adult males laughing and joking
while they picked up small children by their
arms, legs, and their hair, while they throw them
    in big trucks.

6
The Dockworkers Strike
  • On February 22, 1941, the Nazis tortured the
    Jewish population in Amsterdam
  • On February 25th Democrats, Catholics,
Protestants, and Communists walked side by side
    in protest.
  • The Nazis were stunned. Everything stopped.
Later the Germans decided to bring in the SS
Death Hands regiment. They shot at stores, threw
hand grenades, but still the strike went on.

The Conclusion
Without the help of people trying to rescue them,
there would be no resistance against the Nazis in
Germany. This means that it would be a lot
easier for Hitler to follow through with his
plans. These people made a difference.
