  • Create a folder
  • Collect Content and put into the folder
  • Image Sources

Image Sources
  • Web
  • Size (in Pixels) of web images is important
  • Small Images will look bad if enlarged
  • Should be at least 200 x 150 pixels or larger

Using Google to search for images
Select Images then type in search text

Left click on an image to choose it.

Select See full-size image

Right Click on full-sizeimage to open window
then select Save Image As.

  • Change File name if needed to remember what the
    image is.
  • Choose a Save as type generally JPEG Image

  • Scan Images for On-Screen Presentations
  • Scanning resolution for 11 Original size
    Screen size is be about 97 d.p.i.
  • Save as jpg at highest quality
  • If archiving for a portfolio, use a higher
    resolution (like 300 dpi) but resize using
    Photoshop or Microsoft Picture Manager

  • Set camera for lowest resolution 640x480, unless
    you are ready to resize all of your images.
  • Again, if archiving, use highest available
    resolution then resize

  • Choose a Design Template
  • Note You can also create your own backgrounds
    using Photoshop
  • Switch to Slide Layout and choose a Text Layout
    or Content Layout that most closely matches how
    you want to display your content.

Charts
  • Double click chart to edit values and headings
  • Right click chart gt Choose gt Chart Object gt Open
    -gt Microsoft Graph Editor to change chart type
    and options

Animation
  • To animate an object, for example text.
  • Right click on the object
  • Choose gt Custom Animation
  • Choose Add Effect (from tool bar on right)
  • Select an Entrance effect
  • Modify Effect as desired
  • For more options, open Effects drop down panel
    and choose gt Effect Options
  • To animate text in groups by paragraph levels
    choose the Text Animation tab.

Student Multimedia Studio
Located in the Information Commons on the 1st
floor of the KSU Library, the Student Multimedia
Studio provides currently enrolled KSU students
with a wide range of multimedia equipment,
software and support to create presentations for
course projects.

At the SMS Students Can...
  • Scan photographs, slides or film then use them in
    powerpoint, web or video presentations, e-mail
    them to family and friends or start an archive of
    their work for an e-Portfolio to help land the
    perfect job
  • Edit images or create animation using Photoshop,
    Image Ready or 3DS Max
  • Capture video and audio from tapes, CDs or
    records and convert them to digital formats so
    they can be used in multimedia presentations like
    powerpoint
  • Create a powerpoint or web presentation then burn
    it to a CD-R or upload it to the Kent Personal
    Web Server
  • Record a CD, VCD or DVD of data, video, audio or
    an entire presentation
  • Borrow a camcorder to shoot video to use in a
    multimedia presentation or for theatrical
    release The SMS camcorders are now reserved and
    checked-out through AVS (672- 3456) but we still
    support them and provide instruction as needed.
  • Edit video in one of our private editing rooms.
    Add titles, effects and music or sound effects,
    then output the finished production to videotape,
    stream it over the web, insert it into a
    powerpoint presentation or create a DVD.
  • Get one-on-one help from one of our Multimedia
    Consultants.
