District Mission Statement

• In partnership with our communities, the mission
  of White Pigeon Community Schools is to provide a
  nurturing environment which fulfills the
  students educational needs and develops a desire
  for life long learning.

• We believe that each person is unique and
  important
• We believe that the school will provide for the
  educational needs of the community, its students
  and staff
• We believe that the community and the school is
  involved in a partnership whose purpose is
  fulfilling the mission of the school system
• We believe we should help each individual develop
  to their maximum potential
• We believe the school is a safe, secure and
  caring environment
• We believe school should develop a positive and
  responsible attitude, in regards to themselves
  and others
• We believe the environment of the school will be
  such that each student is provided the
  opportunity to develop the skills necessary to
  become a productive and contributing member of
  society

Decision Making Process

• Each building in the White Pigeon Community
  Schools has either a North Central Accreditation
  Team or a school improvement team. It is from
  the goals of these teams that the district school
  improvement plan was derived. With input from
  staff members, school board members,
  administrators, parents and community members
  this plan was developed. In addition, core
  subject area committees helped to provide
  direction as to where our district is headed in
  the area of school improvement.

Professional Development Plan

• The professional development plan for the White
  Pigeon Community Schools is embedded into the
  district school improvement plan under each
  target goal. In conjunction with that, the White
  Pigeon Community Schools will follow all state
  and federal initiatives in the area of
  professional development and encourage staff
  members to attend.
