• Foreshadowing means to know something before it
  actually happens.

Forshadowing

• Then a bird shrieked a wild caw of alarm in the
  jungle canopy overhead. When the animals in the
  jungle all caught attention because the Savages
  were coming. This foreshadows that danger is
  going to come to Eveningstar. Pg 7

• When I found the courage to open my eyes I saw
  Small staring down at me. When Small stared down
  at Eveningstar in the jungle and did not tell the
  other Savages. This foreshadows that there is
  going to be a big friendship because Small was
  kind enough to save Eveningstars life. Pg 9

• Symbolism means to have something that reminds
  someone of something.

• We all helped dig the graves but my mother
  prepared the bodies herself placing cornmeal and
  jade bead in their mouth for the afterlive "When
  the Macaw family buried Eveningstars aunt and
  their family they put fruit and jewelry with them
  so they have a good after live with food and
  money. Pg 4

• My parents could have stopped working at trade
  and live like other nobles When The Macaw family
  was loyal because Smoke Shell killed the Savages
  they did not just stop working and act like
  nobles they just kept on doing what they were
  doing. This symbolizes that the family had a lot
  of kindness and a lot of family history because
  they never stopped working. Pg 77

• Interdependence means to mutually depend on one
  another.

• Mother was too busy to gather medicinal herbs
  and plants and neither she nor her patients could
  afford to buy enough even when they were
  available. So the task fell on me. This shows
  that Eveningstars mother depended on Eveningstar
  because without her she could not help and heal
  anymore that much because she first needed the
  medicine. Pg 5

• Good luck he said Thank You I said leaning in to
  kiss his cheek.When Smoking Squirrel helped
  Evenignstar escape out of the temple were Great
  Skull Zero would through her in the well of
  sacrifice. This show that Eveningstar was
  interdependent to Smoking Squirrel because only
  with his help she could have made it. Pg 167

• A conflict is a strong argument or a fight.
• A conflict resolution is to get back and think
  the same again after a conflict.

• Stop I shouted so that all the plaza could hear
  it This shows that Eveningstar was shouting
  against Great Skull Zero when she survived the
  Well Of Sacrifice which made it a conflict
  between those two. Pg 221
• Later on thought it got better between them
  because Eveningstar had a lot of people on her
  side who believed in her and not in Great Skull
  Zero which made it a conflict resolution.

Conflict

• I raged for hours hating Feather Dawn damning
  her to the underworld for her stupidity. This
  shows that when Feather Dawn caught Eveningstar
  when she was trying to escape from the Well which
  was a conflict between Eveningstar and Feather
  Dawn. Pg 172
• It got better later when Eveningstar survived the
  Well of Sacrifice which made it a conflict
  resolution between them.

Review Summary (did you like the novel and
why?)

• In the book the Well Of Sacrifice you can really
  learn about a what a young girl can do to save
  her city and family. What I liked about this book
  was that it really tells about Eveningstars
  courage and how she survived the Well Of
  Sacrifice. What I did not so like about the book
  was that it sometimes had really sad scenes when
  people got sacrificed. But still it was a great
  book!!!

Conclusionand recommendation

• This book is about Mayan girl named Eveningstar
  and she has a lot of courage because she tries
  save her family and the whole city, too in which
  she succeeds. I would really recommend this book
  because there you can learn that something never
  has an end you can always find away to get out of
  a disaster.
