Title: My product is Walkers crisps
1My product is Walkers crisps
Walkers is just one crisp company in a massive
worldwide snack industry. Walkers crisps are
made with the best British potato's you can find,
therefore Walkers crisps are also made and sold
in Britain. Walkers have a few main competitors
out there but one main rival company is KP snacks
that make crisps such as McCoy's and space
raiders.
2History of the company
- HISTORY- Long, long ago (well, the 1880s) in a
Midlands town not so far away (Leicester!), a
butcher named Henry Walker opened a new butchers
shop and for a while things went well... But by
1945 meat was so scarce that Henry branched out
and began cooking slices of potato. They sold
well and in 1954 the first flavoured crisps were
created, Cheese and Onion was born! Henry Walker
became Walkers and by the 1980s.
3S.W.O.T Analysis
- Strengths- You can purchase different varieties
such as walkers light or baked which has been
proved to be healthier than normal walkers. There
are a varieties of flavours such as cheese and
onion and ready salted so there are flavours for
every one. The packaging is recyclable. - Weakness- Some golden wonder packets of crisps
contain less calories, some brands of crisps
contain less fat.
4S.W.O.T Analysis part 2
- Opportunities- Walkers haven't advertise a new
flavour of Walker's crisps in a while so they can
use this opportunity to bring out a new flavour
that no one has used and advertise it on t.v. The
new flavour as i said could be an usual flavour
that no one had used yet so it cold be an
opportunity to gain more sales on the whole
Walkers franchise. - Threats- Some brands of crisps are lower in
calories and fat than walkers. Some brand are
bringing out new flavours that walkers don't
have.
5Walkers competitors
- Walkers competitors- Golden Wonder- Founded in
Stoneyburn in 1947 by the Scottish bakery owner
William Alexander, the company was named after
the Golden Wonder potato. The company was
acquired by UK-based Dalgety plc in 1987. Its
notable brands have included "Jungle Fresh"
peanuts and Pot Noodle, which ceased to carry
Golden Wonder branding after the brand (but not
the manufacturing business itself) was sold to
Unilever. In July 1995 Best Foods paid Dalgety
plc about 280 million for its Golden Wonder Pot
Noodle instant hot snacks manufacturing business.
In 2006, the company was bought by Tayto.

15My Proposal
- My main idea for my Walkers advert is to use a
stills camera to take photos and create a
animation advert. - I will use various different flavours of Walkers
to show the wide variety of Walkers products. - My idea was to use the crisps from the packets to
spell out the word Walkers. Then add in a actor
eating some of the crisps. - The end of the add will contain a slogan and
possibly some sort of graphic.
16My Proposal Slide 2
- Target audience- I believe that this style of
advert will attract children, teenagers and
possibly adults to be drawn to the product and
make them want to purchase it.
17Thank you every one for listening!
