- Approximately 4 to 5 hours of homework per week,
depending on length and involvement of the
assignment - Possess independent critical thinking skills and
the ability to function at a faster pace - Has strong work ethic, self-motivated

- Math (2 of 3)
- A in previous honors math course (both
semesters) - STAR/California Standards Test Mathematics (CST)
level Advanced and STAR score 95 or gt on Math
portion - Meet cutoff score on Math Placement Test
9Key Expectations for Math Honors
- Average of 1.5 to 2 hours outside of class on
homework for each class period - 1 ½ to 3 sections from the text per class, one
chapter every two to three weeks may also
include projects - Honors courses require honors-level attitude,
work ethic, and responsibility

- His/her interests, other courses enrolled in and
extra-curricular or outside activities - Students should be prepared to make a commitment
for an entire academic year, as space may not be
available for a level change into a college prep
course.
