Accelerated Reader
  • Students are tested quarterly and assigned a
    reading range and goal each quarter. They should
    choose appropriate books in their reading range.
  • There are many research studies that correlate
    the amount of time students read independently to
    success in school.
  • Please provide the structure and support to
    encourage your child to read, read and read!
  • Reading incentives will offered quarterly for
    students who meet quarterly goals.
  • Millionaires will also be recognized at the
    Character Counts assemblies.

Tax Credit Donation
  • What is it?
  • An opportunity to direct your tax money directly
    to your childs classroom
  • Married filers up to 400, single filers can
    donate 250 but ANY AMOUNT YOU DONATE IS
    APPRECIATED!
  • The contribution amount offsets your Arizona tax
    obligation
  • Example when calculating your taxes
    you find that you owe the state 200.
    Make a 200 tax credit donation to
    CUSD/Navarrete/6th grade ? and pay zero
    in state taxes.
  • If you do not owe any money in taxes, make a
    donation and get it back later as a refund!

Biztown
  • Parent volunteers needed!
  • Hands-on learning where students hold jobs,
    manage money, learn economic principles and even
    do a little shopping
  • Funding tax credit donations needed

Homework
  • Students will record all assignments in their
    planners. Parents must check and sign off daily.
    Students will be encouraged to keep planners up
    to date and signed through classroom incentives.
  • Homework will be assigned on a daily or weekly
    basis.
  • Students who do not bring their homework will
    suffer a loss of privileges and points.
  • Homework will be a part of the overall grade.
  • Per district guidelines, homework should not
    exceed 60 minutes per night
  • Classroom assignments that are not finished
    during time provided are expected to be completed
    as homework.
