Non Governmental Organization in control of T.B.
in IRAQ   IRAQ National Tuberculosis
Programme (N.T.P) becomes fully effective with
board participation by community based, non-
Governmental Organization as well as primary
health care center providers. Because the
treatment regimen under the (DOTS) strategy has
been standardized, implementation of (DOTS) dose
not require specialized medical professionals and
trained personnel can Supervise (DOTS) treatment.

Iraqi womens federation. Iraq womens
federation is a non governmental organization has
members in every Governorate in Iraq with largest
participation in Baghdad and their members
involve to develop a community health programme
for all Iraqi womens.

A team of 30 members from Iraqi womens
federation from saddam city / Baghdad trained in
a work shop at 1999 on DOTS strategy and the
supervision of drug intake by T.B. patients in
their family at home and follow them when they
become defaulted or transferred to other area,
also they ensure follow- up sputum examination at
prescribed intervals and work closely with T.B.
patient to ensure full treatment intake, as well
as community education about risk of T.B., method
of treatment and control according to Anti-TB
Iraq N.T.P. guidelines to increase awareness of
T.B. in the community .

Iraq Anti TB chest diseases society. 
Iraq Anti TB chest diseases society is
a non governmental organization, it was
established in Baghdad at 1941, it provide the
leadership in the fight against T.B. from that
time till now, it gives technical support for
N.T.P, as well as education of the community
about T.B., DOTS other infectious diseases by
community based or country based social
mobilization action to bring more attention to
T.B. mobilize action to get T.B. treatment for
every person who needs it.

activities done for different community members
in Baghdad city other governorate.
Fact sheets, posters, flip charts, key messages,
slides, overheads, data show, videos, T.V.,
Radio, as well as other media and visual
materials used by Iraq Anti TB chest diseases
society to increase understanding of the T.B.
situation among the general public increase
commitment from local leaders, politicians,
Government to fight T.B.

  Primary Urgency Organization (P.U.O)
Primary Urgency Organization is a non
Governmental France organization, started to work
in Iraqi ministry of health (M.O.H) And
collaboration with N.T.P stated from 2001 through
rehabilitation of T.B. and chest disease
institute with the reference laboratory in
Baghdad as well as 10 T.B. centers in most of
Iraqi Governorate (Wasit , Diala ,Kurck, saddam
city , Ninwa , Basrha , Missan , Qadisiya , Najaf
, Muthana , The- qar ) .
