What we have accomplished together
  • Values and Strategy
  • Emphasis on Values, Mission, Vision, Planning
and Action has created a momentum that continues
  • Deeper Engagement in Mission
  • Many more churches involved in missionary
    work, local and abroad
  • Churches Networking
  • Focus on One Church has created multiple
  • efforts for churches to work together

9
What we have learned
  • No matter how we assist congregations, their
health and development ALWAYS reflects the level
of skilled, faithful and mature leaders, both lay
    and ordained.
  • Vision and planning work with the smallest and
largest of our churches usually reveals similar
    needs for leadership development.

10
What we have learned
  • There is a void of significant leadership
knowledge and skills training specifically for
laity. Most clergy are hungry to learn more,
particularly those with at least 10 years left in
    active ministry.
  • There is an urgent need for significant training
of leaders in forums beyond conferences and
seminars in order to impact EDOTs culture for
    healthy churches and growth.

11
What we have learned
  • The decline of mainline churches in Texas
parallels the movement across America. The surge
of large non-denominational churches in Texas is
    the fastest in the nation.
  • We are challenged to make our churches inviting,
attractive places of worship and personal
    transformation.

12
Our Strategy
  • Build the capacity for Congregational
    Development by creating, coordinating and
deploying multiple human and material resources
to meet the needs of individual churches
  • Plant new churches, suburban and multi-cultural
  • Establish the Iona Center to Train the baptized
for Leadership, both clergy and laity
  • Create a significant course for faithful
leadership development that focuses on knowledge
and skills application for laity and clergy --
    Crosspointes
