Canon A630 This camera has more control than any
other camera under 400. Its perfect for someone
who would like to play with manual controls from
time to time, but still needs something quick and
easy to use. Print sizes up to 8x10 will look
decent.

10Next Level Cameras
Cameras ideal for those who want more than the
basics
Canon SD800is This camera is one of my personal
favorites. Its small size is perfect for keeping
in a purse or coat pocket and capturing candid,
spontaneous moments. The optical image
stabilization keeps blurry pictures to a minimum,
even in low light. Perfect for pictures up to
5x7, although sometimes 8x10 will look good.

12Next Level Cameras
Cameras ideal for those who want more than the
basics
Nikon L5 One of Nikons best point and shoot ca
meras. Very easy to use, but gives you enough
control to make some great pictures. 8X10 prints
are possible, but 5X7s are the norm. Not quite
the same quality as the Canon SD800is, but at
100 cheaper, its not a bad choice!

Canon S3is Another great camera from Canon. Thi
s camera is fairly easy to use, and has a lot of
control to it. This camera is great for getting
close-up shots when the photographer cant be any
closer. The high optical zoom and optical image
stabilization result in pictures worthy of 8X10
prints.

Sony N2 This camera is meant to be shown off. Wit
h its huge touch screen LCD, built in slideshow,
and spectacular movie mode, its hard not to want
to show it off. 8x10 prints will look good from
this camera, which is rare from cameras this
small.

Sony Alpha Sonys first DSLR is impressive. It
uses Minoltas engineering and Sonys creativity.
The self-cleaning imaging sensor shakes prevents
dust from ruining pictures. The continuous auto
focus works with an optical sensor located below
the viewfinder that detects light. Its hard to
take a bad picture when the camera does this much
work!
23Digital Camcorders
- Digital Camcorders have not changed much since
Julys presentation. Most camcorders transition a
month or two after Christmas, meaning the best
time to buy is usually Jan. and Feb. - The biggest changes to camcorders have been from
Sonys line-up of hard drive and high-def
camcorders.
