2- What Is SAAN?
- SAAN was founded at the University of Michigan
in 2001 to raise awareness about issues affecting
South Asians, primarily through an annual
conference - The conference today is the largest student-run,
content-driven conference in the United States,
attracting over 300 participants and speakers
from across the world - SAAN is dedicated to promoting dialogue,
networking, unity and inspiration among South
Asian youths and South Asian leaders in the
community and abroad -
3M I S S I O N
SAAN 2008 will challenge participants to discover
how intrapersonal, cross-cultural and
transnational interactions involving South Asians
have affected the global community. Dialogue and
collaboration at this year's conference will
encourage informed participants to actively
engage in the world at large. From global to
personal levels, SAAN 2008 will serve as a
