• Because of the disease dopamine (a
  neurotransmitter/a protein) production and
  release is greatly decreased.
• I am Rough Endoplasmic Reticulum.

• I am affected by cancer.
• The mutation that occurred in my DNA that I used
  to house, has caused me and my cell to replicate
  over an over again. In fact, I can hardly keep
  the double-membrane around me intact.
• This cell that I am in can no longer serve its
  function because it now just keeps making more
  cells.
• I am the nucleus.

• I am affected by Cystic Fibrosis.
• Transport channels for Cl- within me are
  defective or absent. The Cl- transport across me
  normally aids in water movement out of my cell to
  make mucus thin, more runny). Less water
  movement across me means a more viscous (thick)
  mucus.
• Because of this - Cystic Fibrosis is
  characterized by a viscous mucus that obstructs
  passageways like the respiratory channels.
• I am the cell membrane.

• I am affected by Huntingtons Disease which is a
  neurological degenerative disease.
• This disease causes a drastic decrease in my ATP
  production affecting the amount of energy
  available for the life of my cell. The
  pathologist would notice atrophy of parts of the
  brain because there is not enough energy
  available to sustain life of my fellow brain
  cells.
• I am mitochondria.

• I am affected by hemophilia.
• Because of this disease, I do not produce the
  clotting proteins for export that I am supposed
  to.
• Therefore, the person that I am part of, if cut,
  may bleed to death.
• I am rough endoplasmic reticulum.

• I am affected by Tay Sachs Disease.
• Tay Sachs disease is characterized by lipid
  accumulation in the brain.
• There is lipid accumulation because I do not
  contain lipase, a digestive enzyme that speeds up
  the chemical reaction to break apart lipids. The
  lipase is generally stored within me just waiting
  to be used, but alas, I dont contain any, so
  lipids accumulate.
• BTY lipase is typically stored within me
  because otherwise it would speed up the chemical
  reaction to digest all the organelles that are
  membranous.
• I am a lysosome.
