Programs
  • Collaborative Internship Program (CIP) Must
    contact HWS Collaborative Internship Program
    Coordinator, Mary Schneiter (x3514) for semester
    deadlines and paperwork. Open to sophomore,
    junior or senior standing, 2.7 GPA. Internship (1
    credit) 15 hours/week at work site, additional
    requirements to be determined with Faculty
    Sponsor. Must complete application and paperwork
    to obtain academic credit. Visit

  • Independent Study (IS) Must register for course
    through the Colleges Registrars Office with
    approval from Academic Advisor and/or Faculty
    Sponsor.
  • Senior Integrated Experience (SIE) Must register
    for course through Colleges Registrars Office
    with approval from Academic Advisor and/or
    Faculty Sponsor.
  • Summer Science Research (SSR) Must visit
    http//www.hws.edu/academics/enrichment/summerscie
    nce.asp to view summer opportunities. The
    internships include a stipend of 2,400 plus
    room and board. Applicants should first speak to
    the faculty sponsor for the project and then
    obtain an application at the Provost's Office,
    Coxe Hall. Deadlines apply.

    of time availability, interests, and objectives.

  • Sign Form 3 FLI Student Program Memorandum of
    Understanding and return it to COC
  • Complete weekly Progress Reports with FLI Sponsor
    to review developing outline, references and
    presentation/paper, and weekly assignments
  • Attend FLI Building Orientation at start of
    semester
  • Format all bibliographic information in MLA
    format
  • Visit the HWS Center for Teaching and Learning
    for writing assistance (x3351)
  • Follow guidelines for paper format

  • Complete 15 minute PowerPoint Presentation
    mid-term (see actual deadline)
  • Review evaluations of PowerPoint Presentation
    with FLI Sponsor
  • Review draft of Final paper with FLI Sponsor
  • Complete Final Paper, due to COC at 400 pm on
    the last day classes of the academic term
  • Attend FLI Programs and events (required by SIE
    and IS)
  • Offer to help with building duties and functions
  • Assist FLI staff with professional duties and
    programs
  • If working in the FLI building, sit at FLI
    receptionist desk to welcome and guide visitors
