2What is bullying .?
Bulling is People calling you names
Making things up to get you into trouble
Hitting, punching, biting and pushing
Stealing things from you Damaging your
stuff Stealing your lunch money
Taking your friends away from you Sending
threats by msn or bebo or myspace Spreading
rumours Threats and intimidation
Making silent or abusive phone calls
Sending you threatening texts Bullies can
also frighten you so that you don't want to
go to school, so that you pretend
to be ill to avoid them.
3Reasons You Get Bullied...
Reasons you would get bullied Your
weight ( too skinny or over weight ) Your
looks The colour of your hair Your
family Your schoolwork If you are
popular ( have lots of friends ) If you
work hard If you have a disability ( if
your in a wheelchair ) If you have a
different colour of skin If you wear
glasses or have a hearing aid If you have
dyslexia If you've been off school due to
illness (get called a skiver )
4Who Do You Turn To...?
Who do you tell if your being
bullied? ? You mum or dad ? Teacher at
school ? Your guidance teacher ? Your friend ? A
relative ? Or your guardian Make sure you tell
someone so that it can get dealt with and you
dont get bullied anymore.
5The effects of bullying..
While bullies often try to deny what they've
done by saying 'it was only a joke', the truth is
they mean it to hurt and it often does.
Sometimes there can be physical harm, but there
can also be psychological harm to people
being bullied They can be so depressed they
actually become ill Their self esteem can be
really low They can become shy They can
develop physical problems, like sore stomachs and
headaches, which are
caused by stress The kind of bullying that
seems to cause the most stress is rumours
Fear can make someone being bullied truant from
school
6How it gets sorted out..
?Your parents could get a phone call
home ?Your parents could get asked to come into
the school for a chat ?Police could get
involved ?You and the bully could get put in a
room together to sort your differences out by
discussing your problems
