Keys to Success - To get an A
  • Study OLD exams!!
  • Study regularly (QD if possible)
  • Not cramming allowed (its not 2nd year)

To get an A and be ready for phases 4
  • Review the basics!
  • Read ahead of time and go to small group
    discussion
  • Be organized!
  • Keep a folder or binder for each module.
  • Get clinical practice guidelines as you go!
  • Saves you time for phases 3, 4 and 6.

  • Appoint a group leader for each group assignment
    and presentation otherwise it is a mess.

How can you prepare for ISAT?
  • Option 1 remember all you have learned in Micro,
    PCOL and human bio
  • Option 2 keep your notes and read respective
    handouts prior to each module

  • Nutrition boring sometimes but important
    materials keep notes
  • Drug Information wish you had it before
  • Longitudinal Care 2 take it seriously or stay an
    extra year (remember www.guidelines.gov)

Classes for clinical pathway
  • Pharmacotherapy 1 and 2 (a must for those in
    clinical pathway) not easy, make comprehensive
    one-sheet study guides for each disease state
  • Clinical pharmacokinetic and ID easy and very
    interesting

Classes for business pathway
  • OB good class but a lot of paperwork, very nice
    teacher
  • OB a must if you are in the MNGT pathway

  • Compounding easy and fun
  • OTC very useful but quizzes will keep you busy

Stay active
  • And develop skills
  • And develop connections
  • And help your friends
  • And remember that you do not have to be an
    officer or be visible
