• discovered in 1846 by Johann Galle
• travels in its orbit around the sun
• trip takes 164 years and 10 months
• takes 16 hours to rotate

• Discovered by the U.S. astronomer Clyde William
  Tombaugh in 1930
• 3.7 billion miles away
• last planet of the solar system
• smallest planet in the solar system
• light almost takes 17 years to reach it
