English Curriculum 1

• Subject Abstract This subject presented us with
  the knowledge and understanding on how to read
  and apply the English outcomes. It looked at the
  four frameworks for development of reading,
  writing talking and listening. This gave us an
  insight as to how the planning for a literacy
  session be organised using an outcomes-based
  approach.
• My Reaction I found this subject useful as a way
  to getting familiar with and further
  understanding how to interpret these indicators
  and outcomes.

Mathematics Curriculum 1

• Subject Abstract This subject looks at
  introducing students to different teaching
  strategies for primary mathematics. There is a
  lot of hands on work which is teaches different
  teaching methods and games and activities that
  can be used when teaching. Students must pass a
  Basic Skills Test to show that they have a basic
  understanding of the subject.
• My Reaction I found this subject really fun and
  very beneficial. I think that the practical side
  of it was interesting and I am keen to adapt what
  I have learnt into my teaching experiences.

Human Society Its Environment

• Grade TBA
• Subject Abstract This subject was the
  introduction to the HSIE course. It looked at
  different ways to become an effective teacher,
  looking at many different teaching strategies.
  Students get an idea on ways to integrate all the
  KLAs into HSIE. The syllabus is also looked at
  in detail as to the varying ways that it can be
  interpreted and adapted.
• My Reaction I feel that the focus on different
  teaching strategies and the integration of
  different KLAs was extremely useful and has
  helped me gain new ideas for my practicum
  experiences.

Primary Practicum 2

• Grade TBA
• Subject Abstract This subject looks at action
  research and its importance to teaching and
  practicum reflections. This subject also provides
  students with their second practicum experience,
  but this time it is 4 weeks, and has an expected
  teaching to be completed.
• My Reaction I hope that the practicum will give
  me the chance to meet my personal outcomes that I
  have set. I hope to learn from my evaluations and
  reflections on my first time of teaching in front
  of a classroom.
