Thoughts On Islam While Preparing This Briefing

• Since childhood, one thing that has struck me
  about Muslims are the different ways in which
  they interpret and live their religion.
• Though there may be said to be certain
  "divisions" of Islam (e.g. Shia and Sunni) and a
  number of schools within these, there are also
  various competing sects claiming to be the unique
  representatives of Islam.
• It is not possible, therefore, to paint Islam
  with a single brush.
• I leave Muslims to argue amongst themselves as to
  what they shall do with the original Islamic
  vision, and judging from what I have read in all
  the original Islamic texts, multiple sources,
  experiences in the war on terror, the internet,
  they are already doing that with great passion.

  want to make a few more things clear to our
  Muslim audience
• I am not here to be disrespectful to Islam or to
  individual persons' beliefs.
• It is inevitable that when presented with
  uncomfortable facts that some people are going to

  being discussed and no matter how diplomatic,
  kind, thoughtful and respectful you try to be.
• For some Muslims any criticism of their faith is

• It has a simple monotheistic creed without

The Myth Lesser educated Muslims and apologists
in the West claim that the root of Islam is
al-Salaam, which is peace in Arabic The
Truth The root word for Islam is al-Silm,
which means submission or surrender. There
is no controversy about this meaning among
Islamic scholars! Submission and peace can be
very different concepts, even if a form of peace
is oftenbrought about through forcing others
into submission. In truth, the Quran not only
calls Muslims to submit to Allah, it also
commands them to SUBDUE people of other

Introduction to Basic Facts of History

• Moon worship has been practiced in Arabia since
  2000 BC. The crescent moon is the most common
  symbol of this pagan moon worship as far back as
  2000 BC.
• In Mecca, there was a god named Hubal who was
  Lord of the Kabah. Hubal was a moon god.
• One Muslim apologist confessed that the idol of
  moon god Hubal was placed upon the roof of the
  Kaba about 400 years before Mohammad.
• The crescent moon is on top of every minaret at
  the Kaba today and the central symbol of Islam

• Four hundred years before the birth of Mohammad
  one Amr bin Lahyo ... a descendant of Qahtan and
  king of Hijaz, had put an idol called Hubal on

  "al-ilah". This is not a proper name of a single

• Before Islam came into existence, the Sabbeans in
  Arabia worshipped the moon-god Allah who was

• Allah was a pagan deity in pre-Islamic times.

  Islam, and which appears on dozens of flags of

• Yahweh, Allah, Vishnu and Buddha are absolutely

  we see that the gap between the Bible and the

  are monotheism - does not prove that the god they
  worship is the True God.
• A similar pagan "reformation" occurred in ancient
  Egypt when Pharaoh Akhenaton decided to become a
  monotheist by making the sun-god Aton the one and
  only true god of Egypt, persecuting and outlawing
  worship of all the other gods of his nation.
• There are four interesting parallels with Islam
  here
• (a) Akhenaton made the male sun-god the one and
  only god of Egypt, while
• (b) Muhammad made the male moon-god the one and
  only god of the Arabs. Neither god remotely
  resembled Yahweh, the God of the Bible, both
  being pagan deities borrowed from polytheistic
  religions. And there is a third parallel
• (c) Though technically monotheistic, in practice
  Akhenaton remained a god himself. Though never
  calling himself a "god", Muhammad certainly
  accrued many of the attributes of godly power as
  we shall see in subsequent articles. Finally,
• (d) Akhenaton used as a symbol for his god the
  Ankh Cross consisting of a solar disk atop a Tau
  cross, whilst Muhammad retained for Islam the
  pagan crescent moon symbol of the moon-god Allah.
  
• Is this all a fanciful, far-fetched conclusion?
• Is all the vast array of scholarly information
  available on Allah simply a conspiracy by evil
  Westerners to discredit Islam? Or might what you
  have read be the truth?
• Are you honest enough to continue researching the
  origins of Islam further?
• Are you honest enough to admit that you might be
  wrong and that the truth about God lies
  elsewhere?
• The purpose of this briefing has not been to
  prove Christianity but simply to examine Islam's
  roots and to see if the "official version" is
  believable.
• What we must not do is try to cover up the
  deficiencies of our own religion by attacking
  another one. The two issues muct be kept separate
  so as not to confuse the issue. This requires
  self-control above all else. It means keeping
  passions checked whilst we calmly investigate the
  facts. Hot-headed people do not tend to find the

• A lunar calendar, the months of the Islamic
  calendar started when the first crescent of a New
  Moon was sighted.
• The solar year is eleven to twelve days longer
  than the lunar year so Ramadan, for instance,

• The first day of Ramadan in 2005 is October 4th
  while, the first day of Ramadan in 2006 is
  September 17th.

Allah For Everyone? Lets Cut A Deal Different
Messages For Different Audiences Pagans, Jews,
and Christians of Arabia

• "Look, you already believe that the moon-god
  Allah is the greatest of all gods. All I want you
  to do is accept the idea that he is the only god.
  I am not taking away the Allah you already
  worship. I am only taking away his wife and his
  daughters and all the other gods."
• This is seen from the fact that the first point
  of the Muslim creed is not "Allah is great" but
  "Allah is the greatest" - he is the greatest
  among the gods.
• Why would Muhammad say that Allah is the greatest
  except in a polytheistic (many gods) context? The
  Arabic word is used to contrast the greater from
  the lesser.
• Pagan Arabs never accused Muhammad of preaching a
  different Allah than the one they already
  worshipped.
• "Allah" was the moon-god according to the
  archaeological evidence.
• Muhammad thus attempted to have it both ways. To
  the pagans, he said that he still believed in the
  moon-god Allah.
• To the Jews and the Christians he said that Allah
  was their God, too. But both the Jews and the
  Christians, who worshipped Yahweh, knew better
  and they rejected his god Allah as a false god.
• Al-Kindi, one of the early Christian apologists
  against Islam, pointed out that

  with the rejection by his Quraysh brethren in
  Mecca who reacted disdainfully to his prophetic
  call and refused to give up their gods.

  language that has been preserved in the Quran,
  the holy book of Islam May the hands of Abu
  Lahab perish! May he himself perish! Nothing
  shall his wealth and gains avail him. He shall
  be burnt in a flaming fire, and his wife, laden

• Surah 858 Muhammad receives a revelation that

  Banu Qaynuqa surrendered, they were exiled from

  asked, Who is ready to kill Kab Ibn Ashraf, a
  Jew who spoke against Muhammad. Maslama replied,
  We shall have to tell lies. Muhammad stated,
  Say what you like.
• After Ashrafs head was presented to Muhammad, he
  declared Allah Akbar Kill every Jew whom you
  come across.
• Muhammad then told Muhayyisa, Kill every Jew.
  He immediately killed a Jewish merchant with whom
  he did business. When his brother objected,
  Muhayisa told him, Had the Prophet ordered me to
  kill you I would have cut off your head.
• Ishaq 675-676 Muhammad also ordered the
  assassinations of Al Harith ibn Suwayd ibn Samit,
  (for speaking against Muhammad) Abu Afak (120
  year old murdered in his sleep for objecting to
  Samits order), and Asam bin Marwan.

Medina House Cleaning

• Bint Marwan had 7 children, satirized Muhammad in
  her poetry. One evening while laying with her
  children she was murdered by one of Muhammads
  followers in her sleep. After assassins
  returned to Muhammad, he declared You have
  greatly aided Allah and his Prophet by dealing
  with the rascal Afak and getting rid of Marwans
  daughter.
• Following the murder of Bint Marwan her family
  and clan were taunted by the murderers. Bukhari
  records that her clan became Muslims because they
  felt the power of Islam. (Terror reaps
  converts).
• Tab VII 99-100 Bukhari V4B52N264 Muhammad then
  sent assassins to kill the Jewish Chieftan Abu
  Rafi for speaking against Muhammad. The
  assassins claimed they drove a sword through his
  belly and thrust it until it reached his
  genitals.

  permission to murder the Jew Sallam Huqayq. He
  was in bed when the assassins thrust a sword into

  V4B52N69-276 Muslims lose to the Meccans at Uhud
  and Muhammad is wounded. A blow from a rock
  causes Muhammad to lose some teeth.
• Tab VII 129 Ishaq 385 Hind bint Utbah, who lost
  her father, son, husband and brother at Badr,
  tried to cannibalize Muhammads companion Hamzah.
  Muhammad ordered her death. She then accepted
  Islam and was granted immunity.

  desecrated body, Muhammad declared, If Allah
  grants me victory over the Quraysh I shall

  will not make jihad are called hypocrites

• 626 Tab VII 144-150 After the Meccans
  decapitated Khubayb, a Muslim prisoner, Muhammad
  sent Amr Umayya to assassinate the Quraysh leader
  Abu Sufyan. The attempt failed. However, Amr
  did murder Uthman bin Malik. Upon returning Amr
  met a shepherd who stated that hed never become
  a Muslim. Amr told the Prophet, When the
  Bedouin was asleep, I killed him in a more
  horrible way than any man has been killed.
  Muhammad then blessed him.

• Ishaq 433-437 Tab VII 151-158 Arabs from the Abu
  Bara tribe ambush some Muslims killing most of
  them. The Prophets companion Amr retaliates and
  kills two men from the wrong tribe, the Banu
  Amir. Muhammad ask the Banu Nadir Jews to pay
  blood money. They agree. Allah tells Muhammad
  that the Jews want to kill him. After the
  meeting, Muhammad says, Islam has wiped out the
  old covenants. Prepare for war.
