  North as San Francisco Bay some think he reached
  Puget Sound
• Was being chased by Spanish

• Three trips around the world
• Paid to come to the PNW to look for a NW Passage
  in 1778
• Discovered Hawaii and named them the Sandwich
  Islands
• Landed on Vancouver Island/Nootka Sound

• Named the river after his ship, Columbia Rediviva.
