- Zero PTO Balance No Scheduled PTO.
- Advance Planning of PTO Using Future Accruals.

33This is something you should know if theres a
line, draw below. If no veins below the line,
inform the nurse you must decline.
- Never draw above an IV line (turned on or off
). - Hickman, PICC, or Heplock with no line
attached, you may draw above or below .
34- For the following situations, assume the right
arm is listed as No Procedures.
35Where could I perform a Venipuncture?
36Answer
- Either Above or Below there is no line
attached.
37Where could I perform a Venipuncture?
38Answer
- Below - there is an infusion line attached to the
device.
39Where could I perform a Venipuncture?
40Answer
- Below / Neither assuming a tourniquet can be
safely applied and prominent veins are in the
hand. This device is almost too low to apply a
tourniquet. - There is an infusion line attached to the device
so you must go BELOW.
41Where could I perform a Venipuncture?
42Answer
- Either Above or Below there is no line attached
so use a traditional venipuncture site.
43Where could I perform a Venipuncture?
44Answer
- Below - there is an infusion line attached to the
device. - Even though Blood is being infused, the Lab has
no written policy to exclude phlebotomy during a
blood infusion. We would never refuse a draw
because blood is actively infusing.
45Where could I perform a Venipuncture?
46Answer
- Above. There is no line attached.
