How to Spot a Gerund...
  • A Gerund is a verb used as a noun that ends in
    -ing. Every gerund, no matter what, ends in -ing.
    Gerunds are not that easy to pick out. The
    problem is that all present participles also end
    in -ing.
  • Gerunds function as nouns. Gerunds could be
    subjects, subject complements, direct objects,
    indirect objects, and objects of prepositions.
