  • How did she escape with a lot of slaves and NEVER

Harriet Tubman
  • Birth name Araminta Ross
  • Born In Maryland In the 1820s
  • Died in 1913
  • She got married twice. To John Tubman and Nelson
    David
  • She had 2 kids.
  • She helped as a scout, spy, and a nurse in the
    troops. She also helped the elderly.

How she got threw it.
  • She knew people that were once slaves and she
    told them that she was trying to get her family
    and other slaves to a free land. So they helped
    her by telling her people that will help hide her
    and the slaves and to get what they need to get
    where theyre trying to get.
  • She took her family to Canada and it wasnt safe
    anymore so she had to take them somewhere else.

  • Escaped from Maryland.
  • Went to Philadelphia and Freed her family.
  • Helped freed kids in the South and the North.
  • She followed the North star to the Freedom
    Land.
  • Freed about 300 slaves and never got caught

  • When she passed the Mason-Dixie line she looked
    at her hands to see if she was the same.
  • Tried helping another slave while doing that she
    got hit in the head by a 2 pound weight. Changing
    her life.
  • Considered as a conductor since she was the
    leader of the Underground Railroad.
  • In Auburn New York she build a home for the
    elderly that she built on her lawn!!

    family of slaves and the people that struggled to
    get into Freedom.
