New ordering procedures
  • GPs provide HOO for short term requirements and
    refer patients to specialist team for full
    assessment
  • Respiratory consultants and specialist teams
    provide Home Oxygen Order indicating therapy,
    flow rate and hours per day
  • HOO faxed to the single supplier
  • Suppliers install most appropriate equipment to
    reflect the patients requirements identified on
    the HOO
  • No repeat orders required a new HOO is only
    required if the order changes
  • Second HOO required from GP for holiday service
    or place of work / study
  • Emergency HOO valid in perpetuity until succeeded
    by standard HOO
