Second Grade News
A note from Mrs. Weatherly . . .
TECHNOLOGY NIGHT
THE PRIMARY READING INVENTORY
- Technology Night was a great success! Thank you
to the following students for encouraging your
parents to visit our computer labs - Dakota Thompson Tamara Rayas
- All parents are welcome to visit our school,
classroom, and the computer labs. Please check in
the main office and pick up a visitors badge. -
The reading assessment for the middle of the year
was administered on January 18, 2007. The results
for your child are attached to this newsletter.
Please review the results. According to the
criteria for the middle of the year, all students
must be at Story 4 (Interesting Birds)
Reading words per minute-76 or higher Please
continue to read with your child in order to
increase fluency and comprehension. After your
review the report, please sign below that you
have discussed the results with your child. If
you have any questions regarding your childs
results, please contact me.

SCIENCE PROJECT TERRARIUM
The students are doing a great job observing,
recording, illustrating, and making predictions
on the changes of their terrarium. Please come by
and read your childs observations which are
posted outside of the classroom. Great job on
being scientists!
EXCELLENCE IN TECHNOLOGY AWARDS 2007
Congratulations to the following students for
placing at the district competition
Adriana Kettel-Good Citizenship Brochure
Joshua Rey-A View From My Window Both of these
students have received invitations to attend the
Technology Awards Ceremony on February 8, 2007 at
Socorro High School at 600 p.m. At this
ceremony, Adriana and Joshua will be recognized
and earn their award for either 1st, 2nd, or 3rd
place in their category. Lets wish both of these
students the best of luck!
TERRIFIC KIDS
Congratulations to the following students for
being nominated Dakota Thompson and Michael
Moreno Both of these students will be recognized
on February 6, 2007.

It is important to always drink water. I am
asking that students bring a water bottle to
school everyday.
